The Keppel Coast Country Music Club is situated in Yeppoon, Central Queensland , on the Keppel Coast (also known as the Capricorn Coast ). Yeppoon is a popular tourist destination nestling on the shores of Keppel Bay and is renown for Great Keppel Island, tropical beaches, fishing, boating and of course - music. The town is located about 40kms northeast of Rockhampton and attracts visitors from surrounding districts including Emu Park , Gracemere and Mount Morgan .
The club was founded in 1992 and was originally based at the Railway Hotel Yeppoon. The club’s primary objective has always been to promote country music and generally foster goodwill and friendship among members, visitors and the wider community.
The club was able to lease land from the Livingstone Shire Council and with the support of members and local businesses, a clubhouse was established in 1998. Moving operations to our own venue, the club has been able to promote family and community orientated events.
The club has continued to grow and regularly attracts crowds of around 100 to social functions held every second Saturday night. The club boasts many performers, ranging from the strictly amateur to the seasoned professional – all freely giving their time and talent.
The club is proudly involved in many community activities and events which include regular performances at local nursing homes/retirement facilities, festivals and special events.
Membership is open to all including families and juniors.
The club holds a general meeting on the first Tuesday of each month from 7.30pm at the clubhouse.
